My name is Dane Brinkley, and I’m the founder of Casaval Personal Training.

For two decades, I’ve worked in the mountains guiding hikers, climbers, and skiers across the Cascades, Sierras, Rockies, and the Alaska Range. That time has shaped how I think about movement, preparation, and what it actually takes to perform well when terrain, weather, and fatigue are real factors.

Much of my guiding career has centered on Mount Shasta (14,179’). I’ve worked with Shasta Mountain Guides since 2005 and am a ski guide with Three Sisters Backcountry in central Oregon.

I’m also a certified personal trainer and strength & endurance coach, and I work with recreational and professional athletes alike, including mountaineers, skiers, guides, rangers, and firefighters. Every athlete brings different goals, constraints, and experience levels, which is why my coaching is always individualized.

These days, my time is split between coaching, training, guiding, and family. Working regularly in the mountains continues to inform my coaching and keeps it grounded in real-world demands rather than theory alone.
